Movie Info
Mary Walsh delivers boyfriend Kevin to a hospital for routine outpatient surgery. But when Mary returns to take him home, he\'s mysteriously vanished. An administrator can find no record of him, and a police search turns up nothing. Increasingly frantic, Mary's taken to staff psychiatrist Dr. Bensley, who pronounces her unstable. Now she must not only find her missing boyfriend, but prove her own sanity as well.
When a stranger informs her he knows Kevin\'s whereabouts and demands a $10 million ransom, she has one hour to comply... and her boyfriend's life hangs in the balance. Forced to embezzle the money from the bank where she works, Mary soon discovers the shocking truth behind the disappearance. Now time is running out and she must take matters into her own hands to save herself.

Seeing as this was Brittany Murphy’s last movie before her untimely death, I was surprised that there wasn’t as much coverage for it. Even though this cannot be compared with the media coverage of The Dark Knight after the death of Heath Ledger, it is a sad shame to see Brittany Murphy’s glowing career and talent slip away so quietly.
The film itself is just as dark, the story see’s Murphy’s character driving her boyfriend Dean Cain (Superman) to the hospital, nothing dark or suspenseful there, but the hours roll by waiting for Dean to finish his examination. Much to her surprise and confusion when she asks the nurses how much longer it’ll be; they have no idea as to whom she is talking about? Thus begins the conspiracy theories, intrigue and suspense as she desperately seeks answers and most importantly her boyfriend.
At just the right pace, the story is allowed to develop and we truly connect for the protagonist, the first hour is very good as we are left it the dark with the character and really have no idea if a sinister force is at work or even if she is a in fact a loon and needs help. A strong offering with decent twists will leave you feeling satisfied and just a little sad at the loss of an actress who started her early career in films like Clueless and Girl, Interrupted.
