When the topic is as grave as child soldiers fighting to the death in Africa, it can turn away a lot of people who prefer to be as ignorant of the situation as possible. In many ways one cannot blame them as no one likes to watch the suffering of children   and forced with the thought that this is everyday in warring countries, but then they miss out on thought provoking and intelligent films such as “The Silent Army”.

As the story concentrates on one boy in particular and the Dutch family on a mission to save/rescue him from forced enlistment into the army this highlight both the horror and evils of war and also the bravery and good from people put into an impossible situation.
