Review:
Psychological drama with a very taboo subject, bigamy, Harry (Edmond Obrien) makes the mistake of falling for Ida Lupino whilst on one of his business trips away from fiancée Joan Fontaine. From this mistake a child is born and Harry takes it upon himself to care for Ida and the baby whilst still living his life with Eve (Fontaine), problems arise when the adoption agency officer that Harry and Eve are tasked with finds Harry commuting between the two families.
Dark, suspenseful and cleverly written, we feel empathy for the two women and even with the bigamist Harry himself, as he is making the best of an impossible situation and the films message itself does admonish his actions simply expressing the emotions of those involved.
