Review:
A dark look at an urban youths torn by loyalties, divided by family.
Michael Angarano (Sky High) stars as Cole McKay, mild mannered, polite and obedient unlike that of his older brother Terry whom is bad tempered, rude, destructive and generally not a nice person to be with, his older sister is pregnant out of wedlock, his father (Brendan Gleeson) is an alcoholic looking for work whilst his mother is the strict catholic social worker set on keeping appearances.
Black Irish, most probably a note on the stains caused by the various fault throughout the family, is a noteworthy look at the complications into a Irish catholic family living in Boston, all the parts are played and all the character relay their story with feeling and depth. The cast is decent, Brendan Gleeson (Braveheart) is a seasoned professional and Michael Angarano is an up and coming star to be.
